JacquelineJacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is an Sri Lankan actress and model. She has worked in Indian film, mostly in Hindi along with appearing in reality shows and music videos. Beginning her career in the film industry with Aladin in 2009 and has since made a name for herself within the Hindi film industry. Fernandez is the daughter of a multiracial Eurasian family, including the mother of a Canadian, Sri Lankan and Malaysian mother. She was born and was raised as a Bahraini citizen. After graduating in mass communications from the University of Sydney and working as a reporter on TV in Sri Lanka, she joined the modeling business. In 2006 she was crowned Miss Universe Sri Lanka and was a representative of Sri Lanka at Miss Universe 2006. In December 2021, Fernandez has been subjected to an investigation into a money laundering case involving more than Rs200 million. Fernandez was questioned for ten hours by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), regarding the matter on 9/12/2021. On the 22nd of December, ED denied Fernandez's request to downgrade the Lookout Circular (LOC) which was issued to her in the matter that blocks her to travel beyond India
